The copyright thing is a red herring. There are a ton of privately made "happy" videos. I mean you tube is silly with them.

HOW EXACTLY does god communicate with or direct the GB?

we're all familiar with the organisations claims (and have seen the flow diagrams in books and mags) that the gb is "directed by god".

in turn, the local elders are "directed by god".

so, how exactly do they suppose this happens?

Well we all know its nonsense....but even THEY believe it. So how do they teach that they receive information? Since they claim no divine inspiration (tm), or prophetic powers (at least the Mormons own that crap), they use the word LED by holy spirit?
How are you LED, by holy spirit? Just that! Its like an intuition.
Here is the way it was explained to me by an elder. He said when the brothers pray about a situation involving someone and a JC, who may or may not be disfellowshipped, they are told to be come aware of a "particular pattern of thinking". The inescapable one, seems to be the one they are being LED to.
Ugh.

Cappy.....that makes sense. I didn't look very closely. carpet tiles are cheap, and if you need to you can replace just one. (and you will need to.....often).
Of course this is all US based. In south america you have tile in every KH pretty much.

Hmmmmmm. I don't see these being built and "flipped". Maybe its more long term thinking.....building a practical meeting place in areas where 10-15 years from then resale will be higher and the building could be easily converted into something else depending on zoning.
Many churches currently lease commercial space, so ironically they could end up selling to another place of worship.
I don't know. The place seems so utility, it could simply be a cost saving measure. Even with tile which will make sound dampening interesting, all they do is ensure less maintenance in the long run (carpet cleaning, replacement, cooling, repairs). Or its just the typical evolution in the RBC's selection method. they already have pre approved plans for big boxes. Municipalities no longer want just big rectangles in an area. They want some architecture, some feeling, maybe even (gulp)......windows! In a more industrial area, you don't have to have those things.
Its basically the crossfit model. Rent cheap industrial space.......add weights......now its a gym.

Why do they keep removing it? Its not because of the music. There are plenty of "happy" videos, and the Pharell doesn't seem to care.
Maybe someone told them that this guy is the one that made the song.

i was blown with how much former members sound like ex jehovah's witnesses.

She basically is......but is still secretive (read:afraid), in regards to people knowing how she feels.
But the transformation has been nothing short of amazing.

my mom called me yesterday to ask how i was doing.

This has been WAY over thought on this thread. Its like saying "Soon Jehovahs name will be vindicated and we will receive our reward!" or "Soon this wicked system will perish".
Its just another way of reminding people it could happen tomorrow, so give generously and don't go to college.
Nothing to see here. Same message, slightly different wrapping paper.

I used to work for a Mormon and a Catholic who were both Scientology. Scientology own a management company that helps you run a small business. Our office was FULL of Scientology lingo. Some people even did E meter tests. Bizarre.
ST's greatest similarity with JW's is "disconnection". They "declare you a suppressive person". They call it a SUP for short. There is even a tribunal for it. Its the same thing as disfellowshipping.
I would HIGHLY recommend a book by a New Yorker staff writer called "Going Clear: Scientology, Hollywood, and the prison of belief." Reading it helped wake up my wife a bit. its facinating. JW's even get an honorable mention in the back along with some other religions regarding control etc....Its like a sentence......but still.
If you only read one book about Scientology.....that is the one.
